EconoCon XIV Takes over the HUB

On Saturday April 9th and Sunday April 10th, Plymouth State University's Gaming Club hosted its fourteenth annual EconoCon. EconoCon XIV had a zombie apocalypse theme which featured goodybags full of fake blood packets, Zombie board games, and t-shirts.

PSU Junior Jamie Alley, also the president of Gaming Club, organized the event with the help of her Gaming Club "minions." The event took over a better part of the HUB featuring role playing games, board games, card games, tournaments, miniature war games, and added electronic games.

One of the tournaments newly added to the list, was a Pokemon competition. Six members partook in the battle, including Pokemon trainers Cabot Wiggett and Seamus Dunphy who both tied for third, and many more requested that it be included in next year's competition.

Alumni Green becomes a Battlefield

On Saturday, April 9th, PSU's  PACE hosted a LARPing event on Alumni green. For those unfamiliar with the term, LARPing stands for live action role playing, and as PACE's president Chris Greiner put it, "its what the guys in the movie Role Models did."

Students showed up dressed in pizza boxes and empty egg cartons as armor, and hot pocket boxes attached to poles to use as war hammers. About 30 students split into two teams and were handed foam swords to battle with. Before the battle began, one student from the "red" team announnced to his fellow warriors, "Tonight, we dine, in PROSPECT!"

After the battling finished, students signed up for a dueling tournament, using "ring" names such as "the sandman", "link", and "Rhino" to name a few. All in all students enjoyed the event, and everybody lived to fight another day. To view footage of the epic battle watch this weeks broadcast of The Clock outLOUD.
