Response to Masse's Article
HOW'S YOUR LATTE? --- Keith Sheets, Jr.- Class of 2002 PSC
First, let me say that I'm happy the editors of The Clock have taken the opportunity to open up the debate through the paper. I give you mad props, editors. And usually, in my line of work I charge for my intellectual capital, but, just for you, it's free of charge.I felt it is only necessary to provide, yet again, the other side of the story to Rob Masse's liberal diatribe on the most successful administration in history, and his attacks, (while sitting in that nice comfy chair while hundreds of thousands are sweating bullets in the sandy hell of Iraq), on the War on Terrorism. Yes, Iraq IS a battle in the War on Terrorism (WOT). You just don't get it do you. Why does it seem time and time again that liberals would rather dismantle President Bush and our military might rather than dismantle Al Qaeda? What is going on here?First of all, Masse did what the media does all the time. He gave you half of the story when it came to the polls he cited. Let it be known now, as fact, that the MAJORITY of Americans still support President Bush's decision to go into Iraq. Pull our troops out? Ok Spaniards. Unlike those who agree with Masse's interpretation of events and the watchers of Al Jazeera, supporters of President Bush and the WOT get what is at stake here. Iraq is now the central front of the WOT. Better there than in tall buildings in NYCity wouldn't you say? Oh but wait, we're not allowed to talk about that anymore, some media props - politically paid operatives posing as sincere family members of some (read, hardly any) of those killed on 9/11 might get upset. And, we all know the democrats don't want to talk about 9/11 because after all, after 8 years of the Clinton administrations cutting of intelligence, support of the communication wall between the FBI and the CIA so they couldn't share information and their commitment of the FBI to fight abortion clinic bombings (while 20 million babies are slaughtered - priorities anyone?), the humiliation of cutting and running from Somalia (witch bin Laden specifically pointed out as a sign of weakness of the United States - thanks Bill), the attack on the World Trade Center in 1993, the attack on our embassies in Africa and Saudi Arabia, shall I go on? Ok, one more, how about Syria's offer to Clinton to extradite bin Laden. But we're not allowed to talk about that either - cause Bush had two hundred some-odd days before 9/11, and 9/11 happened on his watch. So, it's his entire fault. Yeah ok, and the French, German, and Spanish people have spines. Give me a break. Here is a little reminder... Bush didn't fly those planes into the NY and DC, Al Qaeda did. Got it? Now we have a leader with the gonads to fight for us - thank God for that. As to Masse's other points, one is the draft. When men turn 18, we receive a draft card. What did you think that was for, a free cowardly ticket to Canada? Are you not willing to fight for anything? The ignorance in this country is immense and our freedoms are taken for granted every day. I mean, why should you have to fight? Ok Masse, I guess it is a little easier to send poor black men to fight isn't it. How's your latte? Another point he brought up, education. Education spending is at an all time high. Problem? Parents and teachers are stupid and stupidity costs a lot. As you can see, we're paying for it with condoms on cucumbers. How dare we give poor blacks on opportunity to go to a better school with vouchers! Nah, let's just keep them in bad government funded schools, that way they won't take the elitist white jobs away from intellectual liberals. Ok, got it. Whatever happened to human rights? I thought the left stood up for human rights? Hmm, I guess if they are Arab or black, it just doesn't matter that much to them. Ok, got it.There is so much to write to dissolve the propaganda of collegiate authority. Like how we have recovered from the Clinton recession that started in 2000, we have recovered from the economic burden of corporate scandals, 9/11, and war. We have low interest rates, 380,000 jobs created last month, home ownership at all time highs, the misery index at an all time low in an election year, taxes cut for all who pay taxes and more people who don't have to pay taxes at all, a free Afghanistan, an Iraq no longer under control of a brutal dictator, and 2/3 of Al Qaeda leadership dead and no attack since 9/11. Let me tell you from my line of work I know, we have stopped attacks here since 9/11. You think that's easy? You think Kerry can do all of that in 4 years? And you think Bush needs to spend 185 million to make Kerry look stupid? No, he does that all by himself. Cause after all, Kerry voted for the 85 billion dollars to fund American troops in Iraq, but that was before he voted against it. Just let him talk, he'll make himself look more stupid than Bush could ever dream. Man, that must kill democrats on the inside. The truth always has. Ahhh, I love it.
