Mystic Robin Alexis reconnects with PSU
On Nov. 3 and Nov. 4, a very special person visited PSU to give a talk about their profound life experiences as well as a one-hour radio show on WPCR. Robin Alexis, Reiki Master and Mystic, came to PSU to return to her hometown many years later and share her amazing life story.
The experience first presented itself when Alexis was returning home for her father's 80th birthday party. Now living out west, Alexis is well-known for her view on metaphysical experiences and her ability to communicate with realms foreign to many people. She claims to have the ability to see into people's past lives as well as connect with people on a spiritual level, due to the three near death experiences she has had which have shaped her life.
Alexis knew she was different from others when she had her first near- death experience at age two-and-a-half, locally at a place called Smith bridge. When she almost drowned, Alexis had an out of body experience where she encountered Jesus, who gave her advice about her life to come. He warned her that the first half of her life was going to be very challenging, but if she survived it, she would be moving to the city where movies are made.
The two other out of body experiences happened when she was giving birth and she spoke with her deceased grandmother. Telling her that there was a message for her in a family Bible, her grandmother told her that she had to use her gifts to help others.
Currently, Alexis is doing this today but it would not have been without the encouragement of PSU professor Joel Funk. Alexis is a PSU alum who had a Psychology of Religion class with Funk years ago, and it was in his class that her mind was opened to the possibility of connecting with a world outside of our own. "I was very excited to reconnect with Dr. Funk," Alexis said at an early breakfast meeting with myself, Professor Funk and Annette Holba of the Communications department. We met at the train car to talk about Alexis' visit and where she is today as a radio personality.
"Being in a class with a teacher who really has a huge impact on your life is a great experience," Alexis added. Today, she is nothing short of successful as a radio show host in Washington State. Mystic Radio with Robin Alexis is a popular radio show that she has been doing for four and a half years. People can call in for free to get advice from her that will help them in their daily lives.
Her website, RobinAlexis.com, has many interactive options such as links to her Youtube videos, past radio show recordings, and her current blog. One of the main things Alexis has gained from her experience at PSU was the feeling that one's intuition should not be ignored. Many people go about their daily lives thinking that there is only a linear way to view life on Earth. Alexis shared that intuition is just like any of the other senses and should not be ignored in decision making.
Alexis is a mystic, however, rather than a psychic. This is because she believes her powers to be divinely ordained. She said that being a mystic can be painful sometimes, but you need to follow your passions in life no matter what.
In her one-hour radio slot on Nov. 4, Alexis helped callers as well as spread the story of her journey as a mystic. I was one of the people who sat in and asked her about one of my past lives. As a story was woven about the last person my soul had been inside, my body felt chills. The experience was unique and still leaves me puzzled to this day.
Alexis takes in calls on her radio show every Sunday at 3 p.m. and Thursday at 11 p.m. Her website has a vault of knowledge on the Plymouth native and her success today as someone who follows their dreams.
One of the things that I took away from my experience of meeting Robin was her passion for life. She was a kind individual who had some really daunting things happen to her, but she still made it her goal to help others. Her story was an inspiring example of how teachers really can make a difference in a student's lives, and often times, following your dreams can fit right along with what fate has planned for you.
