Will You?
Being a young adult doesn’t mean I’m immature. I’ve never had to ask for money from my parents or others, despite being hungry for a few days. I chose to not be a stereotype of my age. I’ve always had a job I enjoyed and took pride in my work ethic. I even took jobs that don’t get paid much, because I had a passion for that job. Never made fun of someone because of their looks or wants, simply acknowledged that we are different. I chose not to be a stereotype of my age. Never argued with someone about his or her political beliefs, simply had a healthy debate that ended with mutual respect. But here I am in a society that claims millennials are to blame for world issues and we are sinking the economy. Stuck in a social media age where I don’t understand the concept and feel a technological barrier between my friends and I. Here I am as a young adult just trying to figure out what I want and where I want to be without the judgment of mature people seeping into my brain. A young adult wondering how I am to blame for the sinking economy even when I have nearly eighty thousand dollars in debt after I graduate. I chose to overcome the stereotype that’s pushed upon me, but will you?
